Important information about Forteo
Before using Forteo, tell your doctor if you are allergic to drugs, or if you have Paget’s disease or other bone disorders (other than osteoporosis) high levels of calcium or alkaline phosphatase in your blood, a condition called hyperparathyroidism.
Teriparatide has caused bone cancer (osteosarcoma) in animals, but it is not known whether this will occur in people who use this drug. Talk to your doctor about your own risk.
Avoid smo**king or drinking alco**hol. Smo**king or heavy drinking can reduce your bone mineral density, making fractures more likely to occur.
Usage.
Forteo Injectable is used in the treatment, control, prevention, & repair of the following diseases, conditions and symptoms:
- Glucocorticoid-induced osteoporosis in men and women
- Postmenopausal women with osteoporosis
- Primary Osteoporosis or hypogonadism in men.
How to use Forteo
Inject 20 mcg once a day subcutaneously.
Forteo Side Effects
